# Ad Manager - Audience API

Synchronise audiences with Google Ad Manager, Ad Exchange and DV360 through the Google Audience API partner connector.

The Google Audience API Partner connector - the **DDP connector** in the interface - synchronises your audiences with Google Ad Manager products.

## Description

### What is Google Ad Manager?

Google Ad Manager is an ad exchange platform introduced by Google in 2018 to rationalise ad display, management and monetisation. It combines the features of the former DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP) and DoubleClick Ad Exchange.

### Which Google products this connector reaches

mediarithmics is linked to a Google partner API and can address:

* **Google Ad Exchange**
* **Google Ad Manager** (ex DFP)
* **Display & Video 360 - Advertiser**
* **Display & Video 360 - Partner**

{% hint style="warning" %}
Google no longer allows DMP first-party audiences sent to DV360 to be activated on the YouTube ecosystem.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**Partner or Advertiser?** In Display & Video 360, [partners](https://support.google.com/displayvideo/answer/7622449?hl=en) represent agencies, trading desks or large individual advertisers, and several [advertisers](https://support.google.com/displayvideo/answer/2696883) - the real businesses running campaigns - generally sit under one partner. Whitelist the right ID and pick the matching feature, DV360 Advertiser or DV360 Partner.
{% endhint %}

### Which identifiers are sent

* **Cookies**
* **Mobile IDs**
* **TV IDs** - Android, Apple, Amazon, Roku

## Connector setup

### Prerequisites

A link must be established between mediarithmics and Google, whichever product you target.

* For **Google Ad Manager**, follow Google's [authorisation documentation](https://support.google.com/admanager/answer/3289669?hl=en).
* For **DV360**, follow [this one](https://support.google.com/displayvideo/answer/9649053?hl=en\&ref_topic=9000234) instead.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Cookie matching must be activated on your organisation. Contact your account manager to confirm.
{% endhint %}

### Setup steps

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Authorise mediarithmics in your Google account.**

Use the documentation matching the product you are targeting.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Select the Google DDP connector and fill in its configuration.**

<table data-search="false"><thead><tr><th width="320">Field</th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Name</strong></td><td>Identifies the feed. It is used inside the platform only and is not visible on the external system.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Google Product</strong></td><td>The Google product to synchronise the audience to.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Entity ID</strong></td><td>The ID of your company account on the target Google product, in number format. For AdWords, strip the non-numeric characters - <code>123-456-7890</code> becomes <code>1234567890</code>.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Segment Code</strong></td><td>The integration code for your UserList. An existing value enriches the corresponding UserList rather than creating one.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>User List Name</strong></td><td>The UserList name, visible on the target Google product.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Consent status for the use of ad user data</strong></td><td><code>GRANTED</code>, <code>DENIED</code> or <code>UNSPECIFIED</code>. See <a href="/connectors/destinations/google/consent-management.md">Google - Consent management</a>.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Consent status for the use of ad personalization data</strong></td><td><code>GRANTED</code>, <code>DENIED</code> or <code>UNSPECIFIED</code>. See <a href="/connectors/destinations/google/consent-management.md">Google - Consent management</a>.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Identifying resources</strong></td><td>The identifier types to send to Google.</td></tr></tbody></table>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Set the advanced fields if you need them.**

<table data-search="false"><thead><tr><th width="320">Field</th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Description</strong></td><td>The UserList description shown on the Google product.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Cookie Life Span (days)</strong></td><td>How many days a user's cookie stays in the UserList after its most recent addition. Between 0 and 540 inclusive.</td></tr></tbody></table>
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

Creating and activating the feed on a segment is covered in the **Audience & Activation** section, under *Activate your audiences › Send your first-party data to a destination*.

## Good to know

{% hint style="warning" %}
Following CNIL guidance on cookies and trackers, make sure that:

1. the partner is correctly named when you collect user consent for targeting purposes, or the equivalent;
2. the partner is named in your cookie policy - these partners may drop a cookie on your users' browsers from your websites.
   {% endhint %}

## FAQ

#### Which consent values should I set?

It depends on your datamart's region and on the connector. For this one - Audience Partner (DDP) - a datamart outside Europe must **not** fill in the consent statuses. See [Google - Consent management](/connectors/destinations/google/consent-management.md).

#### Can I enrich a UserList that already exists?

Yes. Put its integration code in **Segment Code**.

#### Can I activate these audiences on YouTube?

No. Google no longer allows DMP first-party audiences sent to DV360 to be activated on the YouTube ecosystem.

## Partner documentation

Google Ad Manager documents its own platform at <https://support.google.com/admanager/>. Use it for anything that happens on the partner side of this connector: account setup, the fields the partner expects, and its own limits.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.mediarithmics.io/connectors/destinations/google/ad-manager-audience-api.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
