# Pixel

Fire the TikTok pixel with an event tag, so TikTok can build a website traffic audience from your segment.

The TikTok Pixel connector sends online data to TikTok from the visitor's browser. The mediarithmics JavaScript tag loads the TikTok pixel with a key/value indicating that the user is in the targeted segment; you then build a **Website Traffic** Custom Audience on that event.

## Description

### What you can do with this connector

* Reach visitors on TikTok without sending any identifier from mediarithmics.
* Build a TikTok audience from a view-content event tagged with your segment.

### Which identifiers are sent

**None.** The connector triggers the TikTok pixel to send a **view content event with an `event_tag`** you can filter on in TikTok.

TikTok is reached by several connectors and they behave differently - [the comparison is on the TikTok page](/connectors/destinations/tiktok.md).

## Connector setup

### Prerequisites

* The mediarithmics tag installed on the site, calling `syncFeeds` - the call that enables client-side feeds. See the **Setup & Monitor** section, under *Collect & manage your data › Collect data in real time › Web tracking*.
* A **TikTok pixel** created in TikTok Business Center, and its pixel ID.

## FAQ

#### How do I create a Custom Audience targeting *Mics segment 1234*?

1. Go to **Assets › Audiences** in TikTok Ads Manager.
2. Click **Create Audience** and select **Custom Audience**.
3. Choose **Website Traffic** as the source.
4. Select your pixel.
5. Fill in: **Name** `Mics segment 1234`; **People who've carried out the following** `View Content`, with a time window; **Through the following pixel**, your pixel.
6. Under **Parameters**, select **content\_ids** → **Contains (case insensitive)** → enter `1234`.
7. Click **Confirm**.

#### How do I use that audience in a campaign?

In TikTok Ads Manager, create or edit a campaign. In the ad group's **Audience Targeting** section select **Custom Audience** and choose the audience, then finish with placements, budget and creative before launching.

#### How will my audience evolve?

Your TikTok audience only grows from the moment the mediarithmics–TikTok pixel synchronisation is set up. It carries the usual client-side constraints: volumes ramp up as users visit your site, exits cannot be signalled, and nothing is sent when the tag is blocked or consent is refused.

## Partner documentation

TikTok documents its own platform at <https://ads.tiktok.com/help/>. Use it for anything that happens on the partner side of this connector: account setup, the fields the partner expects, and its own limits.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.mediarithmics.io/connectors/destinations/tiktok/pixel.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
